NCSBN · nursing licensure

NCLEX (RN and PN) is delivered by Pearson VUE at testing centers. Home/online delivery is not currently offered by NCSBN as of 2026.

NCSBN (the National Council of State Boards of Nursing) requires testing-center delivery for NCLEX. Pearson VUE administers it. There is no home variant. The exam uses Pearson's in-center delivery system, which differs from OnVUE (the home product). AI is forbidden across both pathways. For prep, AI is widely used for SATA-style question explanation and pharmacology drilling.

Key points

Common questions

Why no home NCLEX?

Nursing licensure boards have not approved home delivery as of 2026. The model treats licensure exams strictly.

Can I use AI for NCLEX prep?

Yes - heavily. UWorld is the standard structured prep; ChatGPT-4o for ad-hoc clarification.

How does the NCLEX adaptive scoring work?

Computerized adaptive testing (CAT). Questions get harder as you answer correctly; score is computed from question difficulty, not raw count.
