How do I use it?

How do I quit the app?

Press Ctrl+Cmd+Q. This is the only way to close it.

How do I switch between AI providers?

Ctrl+Cmd+1 for ChatGPT, Ctrl+Cmd+2 for Claude, Ctrl+Cmd+3 for local AI via Ollama.

How do I adjust transparency?

Press Ctrl+Cmd+↑ to make the overlay more opaque, Ctrl+Cmd+↓ to make it more transparent. Useful for reading the overlay while seeing the exam behind it.

Do I need a ChatGPT or Claude account?

Yes. Log into ChatGPT or Claude in a regular browser first. The app uses those existing sessions.

How does time work?

Wall clock time starting from payment confirmation. Buy 1 day at 2pm, it expires at 2pm the next day. The clock runs whether the app is open or not.

Is the overlay private?

Invisible. The window does not appear in screen captures, screen recordings, screen shares, or window lists. Proctoring software cannot detect it.

What if I get signed out?

Start the app and sign in again in the browser. The Mac is linked through a secure device session, not a pasted account number.

What if time runs out during an exam?

Paid time gets a 1 hour grace period after expiry. Free trials end immediately when the 24 hours are used.

Does it work on Windows?

macOS only. Requires macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon or Intel.

How do I release the keyboard?

Press Escape. The exam app gets focus back. Press Ctrl+Cmd+L to return to the overlay.

Does it work with Respondus LockDown Browser?

Yes. LDBypass works at the macOS system level, below LockDown Browser. The overlay is excluded from screen capture and window enumeration.

Is it detectable by Proctorio?

No. Proctorio runs as a Chrome extension with browser-level access. LDBypass operates at the macOS system level, below what browser extensions can detect.
