LockDown Browser on macOS Ventura 13 - Compatibility & Sunset Status

macOS Ventura 13.0 through 13.7 is fully supported by LockDown Browser 2.0.0 and later. Ventura is on Apple's extended-support track in 2026 (security updates only, no feature updates). LDB works fine on Ventura but you're on the older end of supported macOS - upgrade to Sonoma or Sequoia is recommended when convenient.

Frequently asked questions

Does Ventura have the 30-day Screen Recording re-prompt?

No - that's a Sequoia 15.3+ feature. Ventura's Screen Recording grant persists indefinitely until manually revoked.

Will Apple drop Ventura security updates soon?

Apple's pattern is ~3 years of security updates after a macOS major launch. Ventura launched Oct 2022; expected security updates through ~2025. Check Apple's security updates page for current.

Does LDB 2.1.5.01 work the same on Ventura as on Sonoma?

Functionally yes. Performance is fractionally lower on Ventura (older WebKit). No exam-blocking differences.
